We are seeking an experienced and compassionate professional to join our team as an Emotional Wellbeing Lead Teacher at our SEMH Dunbroch school in Newmarket.

In this role, you will lead a dedicated team to create a nurturing and inspiring learning environment where every student can thrive.

As an Emotional Wellbeing Lead Teacher, you will work collaboratively with colleagues to secure high standards throughout the school, ensuring that each individual student achieves planned outcomes.

Your key areas of responsibility will include:

  • Complying with good safeguarding procedures and principles.
  • Participating in the process of assessment of referrals.
  • Acting as the lead teacher for the positive support of behaviour that may challenge.
  • Working as a key member of the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Monitoring progress and targets to ensure that each individual student can achieve planned outcomes.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in SEND.
  • A strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and complex needs.
  • Experience in leading and managing teams with a compassionate, therapeutic approach.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work inclusively with staff, students, and families.
  • A proactive, adaptable attitude, able to set up new systems and processes aligned with the school's values and ethos.
