Job Title: Apprenticeship Skills Coach

Join Total Training Provision as an Apprenticeship Skills Coach and play a vital role in shaping the future of our learners. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality training and support to our apprentices, helping them to achieve their full potential and succeed in their chosen careers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver and Facilitate Teaching and Learning: Design and deliver engaging and effective training sessions that meet the needs of our learners, ensuring they acquire the skills and knowledge required to succeed in their apprenticeships.
  • Support and Deliver Functional Skills: Provide support and delivery of English, Maths, and ICT functional skills at level 2, helping learners to develop the essential skills required for their apprenticeships.
  • Complete Teaching and Learning Visits: Conduct regular teaching and learning visits to ensure continuous development, progression, and achievement of learners allocated on your caseload.
  • Engage with Learners and Line Managers: Work closely with learners and their line managers to provide adequate support and guidance, ensuring learners receive the necessary support to succeed in their apprenticeships.
  • Coach Learners to Collect Evidence: Coach learners to collect the required evidence during training sessions, ensuring they meet the necessary milestones for their apprenticeships and achieve the required standards.
  • Monitor and Review Learner Welfare: Regularly monitor and review learner welfare, taking necessary action to limit early leavers from the programme and maintain agreed caseload levels.
  • Carry out Enrichment Activities: Conduct enrichment activities with learners around the prevent, safeguarding, and British values government agenda, ensuring they are aware of their responsibilities and rights.
  • Manage Administration Duties: Complete administration duties within given timescales, ensuring all paperwork deadlines are achieved and accurate records are maintained.
  • Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Developments: Research the industry on a regular basis to keep abreast of market developments and trends, including competitor practices and delivery activities.
  • Evaluate and Modify Training Delivery: Evaluate and modify training delivery as a result of learner satisfaction and key stakeholder feedback, audits, or observations of teaching, learning, and assessment.
  • Monitor Health and Safety: Monitor health and safety and learner accidents within the apprentice's workplaces, ensuring a safe and healthy learning environment.
  • Provide IAG Service: Provide an effective IAG service to both internal and external clients/customers, promoting Total Training Provision's services and values.
  • Promote Total-TP: Promote Total Training Provision at every opportunity with funding bodies, learners, placements, careers, schools, and any other applicable external body.
Essential Criteria:
  • Deliver up to Level 7: Deliver high-quality training and support to learners, ensuring they achieve the required standards and outcomes.
  • Relevant Occupational Qualification: Hold a relevant occupational qualification or equivalent in your sector of expertise.
  • Assessors Award: Hold a D32/33/TAQA Level 3 Assessors Award or equivalent.
  • Functional Skills: Hold Functional Skills Level 2 in Maths and English or equivalent.
  • Experience of Delivering Apprenticeships: Have experience of delivering apprenticeship training and support in a work-based environment.
  • Assessing Learners: Have proven experience of assessing learners on apprenticeship frameworks, standards, and EPA requirements.
  • Knowledge of Government Funded Training: Have knowledge of government-funded training and the requirements for delivering high-quality apprenticeships.
  • Excellent Communication and Presentation Skills: Possess excellent communication and presentation skills, both oral and written.
  • IT Knowledge and Skills: Have excellent IT knowledge and skills, including the use of electronic portfolio systems.
  • Ability to Work Under Pressure: Be able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Ability to Work Remotely: Be able to work with the minimum of supervision as part of a remote team, using technology to stay connected and productive.
  • Motivate and Support Learners: Be able to motivate and support learners, helping them to achieve their full potential and succeed in their chosen careers.
Desirable or to be Undertaken as Part of Role:
  • Teacher, Training Qualifications: Hold teacher, training qualifications such as PTLLS, CTLLS, or DTLLS.
  • D34 or V1 Award: Hold a D34 or V1 Award.
Other Requirements:
  • Flexible Working Hours: Be able to work flexible hours and locations, if required.
  • Full Driving Licence and Car: Hold a full driving licence and have access to a car.
