Job Title: Apprenticeship Skills Coach

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality training and support to our apprentices, ensuring they achieve their full potential and reach their career goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver and Facilitate Teaching and Learning: Design and deliver engaging training sessions that cater to the needs of our learners, focusing on the development of new knowledge, skills, and behaviors.
  • Support and Deliver Functional Skills: Provide support and deliver English, Maths, and ICT functional skills training to our learners, ensuring they meet the required standards.
  • Complete Teaching and Learning Visits: Conduct regular teaching and learning visits to monitor progress, provide feedback, and ensure continuous development and achievement of our learners.
  • Engage with Learners and Stakeholders: Build strong relationships with learners, line managers, and other stakeholders to provide adequate support and guidance, ensuring a smooth learner journey.
  • Coach and Mentor Learners: Coach learners to collect evidence, ensure progression, and achieve necessary milestones in preparation for EPA or framework completion.
  • Monitor and Review Learner Welfare: Regularly review learner welfare, taking necessary action to limit early leavers and maintain agreed caseload levels.
  • Enrichment Activities: Carry out enrichment activities with learners around the prevent, safeguarding, and British values government agenda.
  • Administration and Record-Keeping: Manage and complete administration duties within given timescales, ensuring all paperwork deadlines are achieved.
  • Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with industry developments, trends, and competitor practices through self-development and standardization events.
  • Evaluation and Modification: Evaluate and modify training delivery based on learner satisfaction, stakeholder feedback, audits, or observations of teaching, learning, and assessment.
  • Health and Safety: Monitor health and safety and learner accidents within apprentice workplaces.
  • IGA and Promotion: Provide effective IAG services to internal and external clients/customers and promote Total-TP at every opportunity with funding bodies, learners, placements, careers, schools, and other applicable external bodies.
Essential Criteria:
  • Deliver up to Level 7: Ensure delivery of high-quality training and support to learners, meeting the required standards.
  • Relevant Occupational Qualification: Hold a Level 3 relevant occupational qualification or equivalent in your sector of expertise.
  • Assessor Award: Possess a D32/33/TAQA Level 3 Assessors Award or equivalent.
  • Functional Skills: Hold Functional Skills Level 2 Maths and English or equivalent.
  • Experience and Knowledge: Have experience of delivering apprenticeship training and support in a work-based environment, with proven experience of assessing learners on apprenticeship frameworks, standards, and EPA requirements.
  • Government Funded Training: Have knowledge of government-funded training.
  • Communication and IT Skills: Possess excellent communication and presentation skills, oral and written, with excellent IT knowledge and skills, including using electronic portfolio systems.
  • Ability to Work Under Pressure: Demonstrate the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, with the ability to work with minimal supervision as part of a remote team.
  • Motivation and Support: Show the ability to motivate and support learners.
Desirable or to be Undertaken as Part of Role:
  • Teacher, Training Qualifications: Possess teacher, training qualifications such as PTLLS, CTLLS, or DTLLS.
  • D34 or V1 Award: Hold a D34 or V1 Award.
Other Requirements:
  • Flexibility and Travel: Be able to work flexible hours and locations, with a full driving license and car.
