BAE Systems (New) is seeking an experienced Lead Systems Architect to join our Radar Systems Engineering Team. As a key member of this team, you will be responsible for leading the decomposition of requirements to system and sub-system level and managing these using an approved toolset.

The ideal candidate will have experience in collaborating with specialists across different engineering disciplines to direct and realise overarching system design solutions. They will also have a breadth of knowledge in subjects such as signal processing, target track extraction, object classification algorithms, system and sensor resource optimisation, and factors that can affect real-world sensing system performance.

This role offers the opportunity to lead system integration, test planning, and execution, and define and articulate system acceptance strategies and acceptance evidence. Responsibilities:

  • Develop novel solutions to evolving technical challenges and emerging issues for complex Multi-Function Radar Systems
  • Apply systems engineering principles, techniques, and governance to steer and develop technical solutions
  • Lead the decomposition of requirements to system and sub-system level
  • Collaborate with specialists across different engineering disciplines

Requirements:

  • A good understanding of systems engineering principles, techniques, and governance
  • Experience in presenting both technical and non-technical information in a formal setting
  • Breadth of knowledge in subjects such as signal processing, target track extraction, object classification algorithms, system and sensor resource optimisation, and factors that can affect real-world sensing system performance
