Duties and Responsibilities
  • Undertake or supervise the structural design and oversee the production of design drawings and documents.
  • Lead and mentor team members in the production of designs and drawings.
  • Provide technical support to junior team members as part of their training and development.
  • Liaise with clients, design teams, and contractors and take a lead role in the delivery of projects.
  • Carry out site surveys including assessment of existing buildings.
  • Control project budgets including fee proposals to clients and resource allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with the Company quality policy.
Requirements

The candidate should have the following:

  • A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and be Chartered with the ICE or IStructE.
  • Experience of structural design in timber, steel, concrete, and masonry, including design of foundations.
  • Experience in the production and review of construction drawings including working with AutoCad and design and analysis software.
  • A confident and proactive approach to working with clients and project teams.
  • Knowledge of Eurocodes and British Standards.
  • Experience of specifying/carrying out ground investigation.
