Senior Structural Engineer Position at HGA (UK) LIMITED

We are a privately owned consultancy based in the Highlands with over 20 years of experience in various sectors.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Chartered Engineer to join our Senior Management Team and work closely with Company Directors on project management.

The successful candidate will lead a team, overseeing structural design and production of design drawings and documents.

Liaising with clients, design teams, and contractors is also a key responsibility.

An essential part of this role is conducting site surveys and assessing existing buildings, as well as controlling project budgets and ensuring compliance with our quality policy.

As a key member of our business growth team, you will identify new opportunities and prepare proposals to contribute to the company's expansion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing and delivering structural design solutions for projects across various sectors.
  • Mentoring and leading a team of professionals in design and drawing production.
  • Effective communication and collaboration with clients, design teams, and contractors.
  • Conducting site surveys and assessments to inform project decisions.
  • Managing project budgets and ensuring adherence to our quality policy.
  • Driving business growth through identifying new opportunities and preparing proposals.
Requirements:
  • Chartered Engineer degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Proven experience in structural design, including timber, steel, concrete, and masonry.
  • Expertise in construction drawing production and review.
  • A confident and proactive approach to client and project team work.
  • Familiarity with Eurocodes and British Standards.
  • Experience with ground investigation and SER certification scheme.
  • Proficiency in working with new and existing buildings, Revit, and AutoCad.
  • Valid driver's license and access to own transport.
Benefits and Salary Information:

The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary of around £70,000 - £90,000 per annum, depending on experience.
