Acute Medicine Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced physician to join our team as an Associate Specialist in Acute Internal Medicine. The successful candidate will be based at a hospital site, providing care to acute medicine patients through the management of a ward with junior support and outpatient setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Rapidly assess and manage acutely ill patients, initiate investigations, and stabilize conditions.
- Supervise and teach junior medical staff, medical students, and specialist nurses.
- Liaise with Primary Care: Coordinate with GPs and community services for smooth patient discharges and follow-up care.
- Participate in clinical governance, manage incidents, and ensure patient safety.
- Engage in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and stay updated with medical advancements.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in the medical field, preferably in Acute Medicine.
- A commitment to Acute Medicine as a career choice, with experience reflecting a passion for this field.
Qualifications
The candidate should hold:
- A Primary Medical Qualification (MBBS).
- MRCP or FRCP or Equivalent qualification.
- Expected entry on GMC specialist register within 6/12 months or applied for entry (through CESR/Portfolio/CCT Pathway).
Benefits
The role offers a competitive salary of £65,000 - £90,000 per annum, depending on experience, and flexible working patterns. We also provide relocation assistance, including flights and initial accommodation as required, and offer extensive training and development opportunities, including a direct route to the CESR Program. This is a fixed-term role initially, but we offer long-term growth opportunities with the trust.
