Role

This role sits within our IT Development team, reporting to our Engineering Manager. You will work closely with the Trading Desk and Risk teams, enhancing existing and developing new trading and risk tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Trading and Risk teams to understand commercial needs and deliver effective technology solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve quantitative trading systems and live analytics processes.
  • Develop and maintain back-end services critical for trading operations, including risk-related services and access to markets.
  • Contribute to the continuous refinement and adjustment of trading infrastructure to adapt to changing market conditions.
  • Extend and optimize trading applications, focusing on real-time data processing and display.
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate recurring issues, improving operational stability.
Ideal Candidate
  • A developer proficient in Python and modern web development frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask, Asyncio/Aiohttp).
  • Experience in the power market, preferably for a trading desk in an energy market trading environment.
  • Knowledge of SQL databases (e.g., MS SQL Server, Snowflake).
  • Containerization tools and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and communication skills.
