We are seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join our team as a Cancer Researcher at the University of Cambridge. As part of this PhD studentship, you will have the opportunity to work alongside world-renowned experts in the field of oncology, conducting cutting-edge research that aims to understand and combat cancer.

About the Role

This 3.5-year fully funded PhD studentship is an excellent opportunity for UK students who are passionate about advancing our understanding of cancer. You will be based in the Early Cancer Institute, Department of Oncology, where you will have access to state-of-the-art facilities and resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • You will conduct original research under the supervision of Profs Rebecca Fitzgerald and Nora Pashayan, focusing on modelling progression risks in Barrett's oesophagus.
  • You will analyze big data and AI to develop risk prediction tools, working closely with the Cambridge Centre for Genetic Epidemiology and Genomics England.
Requirements
  • You must meet the PhD entrance requirements for the University of Cambridge.
  • You should expect to commence study in 2025.
Salary and Benefits

The funding for this studentship covers students with UK Home tuition fee status only. The estimated salary is £15,609 per annum (2024-25 rate). In addition to your salary, you will receive comprehensive training and support, including access to a wide range of lectures and training courses, as well as membership of the University's Postgraduate School of Life Sciences.
