Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse or Clinical Research Practitioner to join our team at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to work in the rapidly evolving field of cancer research, specifically in haematology trials.

Responsibilities
  • Taking a lead role in running a portfolio of research studies in the Haematology team.
  • Coordinating and facilitating patients on their journey through trials, including liaising with consultants, hospital research facilities, and external agencies/companies.

This role will involve dividing your time between office-based work and outpatient clinics, as well as specialist areas involved in facilitating clinical trials. You will have the opportunity to work with world-class medics in current cutting-edge cancer therapy development.

The successful candidate will be a member of the Cambridge Cancer Trials Team, working closely with healthcare teams associated with the multidisciplinary team. Key responsibilities include helping to identify patients eligible for clinical trials, providing information and support for patients entering clinical trials, coordinating trial patient treatment, assessment, follow-up, and data collection according to specific clinical trial protocols.

Requirements
  • Registered nurse or relevant biomedical degree.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
  • Postgraduate qualification in speciality (research or oncology) or willingness to complete.
  • Experience of formal/informal teaching and supervision of junior staff.
  • Experience of working within multi-disciplinary teams.
