Cancer Research Leadership Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced researcher to lead our team at the world-renowned CRUK Cambridge Institute, part of the prestigious University of Cambridge. As a Junior Group Leader, you will be responsible for developing and leading a research team focused on leveraging AI for discovery science or translation in biology or medicine.

This role comes with a significant package of support for five years, equivalent to an investigator grant (approximately £2.5 million over five years). You will benefit from a generous block grant each year, allowing us to maintain world-class research support facilities. Unlike traditional start-up packages, core funding is provided to every group leader as long as they hold their position in the Institute.

While we welcome applications in all areas of cancer discovery research, we primarily focus on solid cancers. We encourage applicants whose interests complement our faculty's expertise or establish new connections to strong clinical programs in Cambridge, such as urological malignancies, children's and young people's cancers, or lung cancers.

The appointment will be at the University level of Senior Research Associate, with salaries consisting of base pay (£45,585-£57,696) plus an additional 'CRUK Enhancement.' This position is roughly equivalent to an Assistant Professor in North American Universities. Pending successful review, funding can be extended to allow application for promotion to Senior Group Leader.

This fixed-term position has funds available for 5 years in the first instance. Once employed, the successful candidate will undergo a basic disclosure check and a security check. The University actively supports equality, diversity, and inclusion and encourages applications from all sections of society. Additionally, the University ensures that all employees are eligible to live and work in the UK.

**Salary:** £45,585 - £57,696 per annum (base pay) + additional 'CRUK Enhancement'
**Benefits:***Generous core funding*
*World-class research support facilities*
*Opportunities for career advancement*
