Job Description

We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated Cancer Research Scientist in Machine Learning and Cancer to join Professor Richard Gilbertson's group at the Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute as part of the Cancer Research UK Children's Brain Tumour Centre (CRUK CBTCE).

Key Responsibilities
  • To develop an independent research project using artificial intelligence and machine learning to create the world's first entirely digital models of the hardest to treat children's brain tumours.
  • To work with the Alan Turing Institute, London and MD Anderson Cancer Center, Texas USA to develop state-of-the-art machine learning approaches for the analysis of spatial sequencing data of childhood cancers including medulloblastoma and ependymoma.
Requirements

A PhD or equivalent qualification in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Biology or Mathematics. Experience in machine learning and cancer research would be advantageous.

Salary and Benefits

An annual salary of approximately £43,000 - £51,000 depending on experience, plus a range of benefits including pension scheme, health insurance and access to the university's sporting facilities.

Location

This role is based at the Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute, University of Cambridge.
