Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom University of Cambridge Full time

Transform individuals, organisations and society with Cambridge Judge Business School. Our rigorous thinking and high-impact transformative education has been a cornerstone of our success since 1990. Situated within one of the world's most prestigious research universities, we're at the heart of the Cambridge Cluster, the most successful technology entrepreneurship cluster in Europe.

The Energy Policy Research Group (EPRG) is based at Judge Business School at the University of Cambridge. Our broad expertise in economics, technology policy and political science informs our research, focused on the electricity and energy industry. We're supported by research councils, philanthropic foundations, and industry stakeholders via our Energy Policy Forum (EPF).

This role will manage and develop relationships with EPF member organisations, identifying and supporting opportunities for additional funding. You'll need to identify intersections between recent, ongoing or future EPRG research, key energy policy themes, and the strategic outlook of energy companies and other institutions. Continuous contact with EPRG researchers, extensive exposure to the industry and energy policy circles in London, Brussels and beyond are essential.

You'll explore other funding opportunities to support the EPF, including grant applications for research activities such as UK Research and Innovation or the European Commission and/or donations from charitable foundations.

We're looking for someone educated to Masters' Degree level or above in a relevant discipline (economics, public policy, engineering etc). You'll have a strong track record of working with academic researchers and independent research institutions. Experience engaging with industry and policy-makers in the energy sector is also a pre-requisite. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to demonstrate accuracy and fluency in spoken and written communications is essential.

A strong quantitative financial awareness and the aptitude to learn to manage costs and develop budget is also a requirement. Other desirable characteristics include experience managing teams or academic groups, direct experience in industry and/or policy-making, and experience in writing grant applications for funders such as UK research councils, European Union, industry and/or charitable foundations.

This is a fixed term role for 12 months in the first instance, working 0.6 FTE (22.2 hours per week). It is expected that at least half of the working hours would be in the office.

We actively support equality, diversity and inclusion and encourage applications from all sections of society.

We have a responsibility to ensure that all employees are eligible to live and work in the UK.
