Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic trainer to join our community resuscitation team. As a Community Resuscitation Trainer, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality emergency life support training to communities across Cumbria.

Main Duties of the Job

As a Community Resuscitation Trainer, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and preparing instructional methods and materials for work-based courses, ensuring high-quality content, delivery, and methodology.
  • Designing and delivering training programs to meet program and student learning objectives, including theory, practical delivery, and assessment.
  • Conducting clinical skills training and demonstrating the correct use of equipment to students.
  • Working with the community resuscitation team to review and develop new training programs.
Working for Our Organisation

North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24/7 emergency services to those in need of medical treatment and transport. Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and transport them to hospital or a place of care if needed.

We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for patients who require transport to and from hospital and are unable to travel unaided due to their medical condition or clinical need.

Alongside the other emergency services, we work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.

Person Specification

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Formal education and/or equivalent experience to diploma level, covering teaching/training practices, health, and wellbeing.
  • Instructor certification relevant to the range of training programs delivered.
  • Evidence of recent continuing professional development (CPD).

Desirable criteria include teaching/training qualifications to diploma level, clinical practice background, and experience of designing training programs.

Skills and Abilities

As a Community Resuscitation Trainer, you will need to possess:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to design and deliver training programs to meet program and student learning objectives.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to design and implement changes to improve systems and processes.
  • Proactive and self-motivated.
  • Ability to manage own time and work under pressure.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and deal with situations in a sensitive manner.
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office software packages.
  • An understanding of the principles of equality of opportunities in relation to staff and service users.
Knowledge and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Minimum of three years' experience delivering training in a related field.
  • Knowledge of national standards related to courses delivered.

Desirable criteria include experience of designing training programs and delivery of clinical training in line with national guidance.
