Job Description

The Anaesthetic Department at North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust provides a comprehensive range of anaesthetic services across various specialties. As an Anaesthetic Consultant, you will be part of a dynamic team working closely with colleagues to deliver high-quality patient care.

Main Duties
  1. Provide anaesthetic services for elective and emergency surgery, intensive and high dependency care, maternity, acute and chronic pain, pre-assessment, and resuscitation.
  2. Work collaboratively with the team to maintain a full range of anaesthetic skills.
  3. Contribute to the development and implementation of anaesthetic services, ensuring alignment with trust and departmental objectives.
Department Overview

The anaesthetic department operates a flexible rota, with areas of clinical interest agreed upon by the team. Consultants work flexibly in time and theatre location, with rotas published six weeks in advance. This enables the department to provide a high-quality out-of-hours service across various specialties.

Specialties

The trust provides anaesthetic services for a wide range of surgical specialties, including general surgery, vascular, urology, ophthalmology, obstetrics and gynaecology, trauma and orthopaedics, maxillo-facial, ENT, and community dentals.
