EU Procurement Specialist for Indirect Commodities

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at AESC. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for managing indirect services and commodities across Europe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a market intelligence program to benchmark industry indicators and market prices, ensuring accurate price forecasting and risk mitigation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with global and local purchasing teams to support strategies and develop suppliers.
  • Provide continuous operational improvement by ensuring contracted suppliers deliver required service levels and acting as a key escalation contact for EU site operational issues.
  • Identify and engage EU vendors, develop requests for information/quotations, and align plant functional needs to support cost reduction and payment condition improvements.
  • Implement ISO-based processes to streamline daily activities and ensure a path to continuous improvement.
  • Assess and evaluate suppliers to undertake performance reviews and drive improvement activities.
  • Work cross-functionally to establish quality, cost, and delivery (QCD) targets and monitor/report key performance indicators (KPIs) to local management, EU, and global leaders.

Requirements

  • Degree university qualification is essential.
  • CIPS or MCIPS is preferred for this role.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Power BI, SAP.
  • Travel will be required within the EU and sometimes Asia.
  • Full driving license.
  • Fluent in English (C1 level).

Desirable Background Experience

  • Proven experience in indirect procurement within a manufacturing environment of at least 4 years, covering supplier engagement, negotiation, and cost reductions.
  • Strong negotiation skills to influence local functions and ability to work to tight deadlines and time management.
  • Excellent communication skills to build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Effective analytical skills to evaluate commodity market trends.
  • Ability to investigate new supply markets to assess existing and new supplier capabilities.
  • Inquisitive and open attitude to exploring new ideas and a willingness for continuous improvement.
