About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Clinical Perfusion Scientist to join our dynamic team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our perfusion team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our clinical services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert clinical perfusion services to patients undergoing cardiac surgery and other complex procedures.
  • Develop and implement new perfusion techniques and protocols to improve patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical policies and guidelines.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the continuous improvement of our services.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior staff members.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of research projects and studies.
Requirements
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Perfusion Science or equivalent.
  • Accreditation with the Society of Clinical Perfusion Scientists.
  • Registration with the College of Clinical Perfusion Scientists.
  • Proven experience in specialized perfusion techniques.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in stressful situations.
  • Computer literacy and ability to use relevant software systems.
