Bouygues UK presents an exciting opportunity for a skilled M&E Engineer or Senior M&E Engineer focused on post-completion activities.

In this position, you will oversee various projects, necessitating travel to multiple sites, including those beyond the typical commuting zone.

You will be an integral part of a specialized team concentrating on M&E components. Your responsibilities will include evaluating concerns raised by clients, conducting thorough investigations (which may involve reviewing contracts, drawings, and site inspections), and collaborating with various stakeholders. This may also include sourcing new contractors, managing tender processes, ensuring compliance with Health and Safety regulations, and coordinating multiple trades on-site. You will be engaged in projects within occupied buildings, striving to achieve outcomes that safeguard the company’s interests while minimizing expenses. Your expertise may also contribute to the stage 3 RIBA process, influencing the direction of future projects.



Essential Qualifications:
- Experience in construction site or facilities management within the MEP sector
- Demonstrated expertise in Electrical and Mechanical systems
- Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS)
- Experience in commissioning processes
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team, supporting project managers and various departments as needed
- ONC/HNC or a degree in an engineering discipline or an equivalent vocational qualification.

Role Objectives and Scope:


Your primary role will involve determining whether reported defects stem from construction or design issues, which includes reviewing project archives and conducting site surveys.

You will work closely with production teams to gain a comprehensive understanding of the original design intent, procurement processes, and the execution of all necessary rectification activities from design through to completion.

Collaboration with client teams will be essential.



Key Responsibilities:
- Contributing to the organization’s commitment to achieving quality outcomes on the first attempt
- Reviewing and approving documentation for transfer to the Post Completion Department
- Conducting detailed reviews of As-Built designs
- Ensuring that pre-handover meetings are organized with site teams, emphasizing the significance of the documentation to be submitted
- Evaluating the performance of production teams and subcontractors
- Managing contractual matters and warranty issues during the Defects Liability Period (DLP) or Liability Period (LDP)
- Investigating the causes and remedies for defects reported through official channels
- Sourcing and overseeing subcontractors
- Ensuring Health & Safety compliance on-site, reviewing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), and identifying additional support for high-risk activities as necessary
- Preparing purchase orders, work orders, and related documentation in collaboration with the Quantity Surveyor
- Monitoring and reporting on project status, costs, and subcontractor performance
- Upholding quality standards across all Post Completion Department activities
- Providing feedback to Quality and Production Departments to mitigate future defects
- Compiling final accounts for all subcontracted work
- Issuing Quality Alerts and Bulletins regarding investigated issues, their causes, corrections, and lessons learned.
