We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Teaching Assistant to join our team in supporting primary-aged children with a range of SEMH needs.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support for children with SEMH needs, both in and outside of the classroom.
  • Working closely with the school's Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) and other staff to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs).
  • Helping manage behaviour effectively, using de-escalation techniques and restorative practices.
  • Monitoring student progress and reporting on their emotional, social, and academic development.
  • Assisting in creating a safe and inclusive classroom environment where all children feel valued and supported.

This role is ideal for someone with experience of working with children, preferably in a primary school setting, supporting children with SEMH or additional needs. A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to working with children is essential.
