About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Ambulance Care Assistant to join our team at EMED Group. As an Ambulance Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing patient transport services to our community, ensuring the highest level of care and safety for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transport patients to and from medical appointments and between healthcare facilities, providing a safe and comfortable environment for our patients.
  • Assist patients with lifting, securing, and helping them in and out of the ambulance, demonstrating empathy and compassion at all times.
  • Build rapport with patients and their relatives/friends, effectively communicating their needs and concerns.
  • Responsible for handing over patients to appropriate staff on arrival at treatment centers/hospitals or to family/friends at their homes.
  • Transfer patients from beds to stretchers, chairs to chairs, or similar, both in and out of hospital and medical/commercial flights.
  • Assist patients with challenging behavior and/or mental health illnesses, providing a calm and considerate approach.
  • Ensure the ambulance is kept safe, clean, and tidy, adhering to high standards of hygiene and safety.
Requirements
  • FREC3 qualified
  • Blue Light Driving qualified (e.g. CERAD)
  • Committed to patient care and safety
  • Effective communicator with experience of communicating with others in emotional circumstances
  • Calm, considerate, and careful driver with no more than six penalty points on your license
  • Natural flair for team working and collaboration
  • Physically fit for patient handling and moving
  • Pass an Enhanced DBS check (company funded)
  • Familiar with the local and surrounding area
