Job Title: Residential Children's Worker

Derbyshire County Council is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Children's Worker to join our team. As a Residential Children's Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to children and young people in our residential homes.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a small children's home that is undergoing renovation and due to open in spring 2024. The home provides care to children aged 0-18, supporting a transition to a permanent home. You will work with a supportive management team, receive regular supervision, and be involved in helping to develop the service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a service to children within Specialist Services in accordance with legislative and policy requirements.
  • Work as part of a small staff team to provide support and a person-centred service to children and young people.
  • Embed the therapeutic ethos of Derbyshire Residential Services within the Homes, ensuring that all areas of a child's care address their physical, emotional, and social development.
  • Collaborate with partner services to support children and their families.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have an openness to and an aptitude for relationship-focused and psychologically informed working practices. You must hold, be working towards, or be willing to undertake and complete within 2 years of starting work at the home, the Level 3 Children and Young People's Workforce Diploma and Social Care Pathway (England) or an equivalent qualification.
