Analytical Chemist for Mass Spectrometry Research

As a Research Analyst in our Core Organic MS Metrology team, you will play a key role in developing and validating methods for the identification of organic species using mass spectrometry. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a range of analytical techniques and develop your skills in quantification and structural characterisation.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and validate GCMS and LCMSMS methods for the identification of organic species in various applications, including environmental, clinical, and security contexts.
- Create and validate reference methodology for accurate quantification of organic compounds to support reference material production.
- Provide cross-team support by maintaining and optimising analytical instrumentation, as well as troubleshooting instrument issues.
- Present results at internal and external meetings and contribute to writing peer-reviewed papers.
We are looking for a motivated and innovative scientist with a strong understanding of mass spectrometry and separation techniques. The ideal candidate will have experience in operating and troubleshooting analytical instrumentation, method validation, and familiarity with QQQ and HRMS instruments.
