Automation Software Quality Assurance Engineer

We are developing the Osler Origin, a portable lab that performs a wide range of testing with lab-quality performance. This innovative device will offer a diverse portfolio of diagnostic tests and serve various healthcare settings worldwide.
We are seeking a highly motivated Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join our Software Team. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will ensure that our product software meets high standards based on industry best practices. Your primary goal will be to enable the team to test and release the software product to the market according to agreed project timelines.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Designing and implementing test cases against software requirements at all levels, including functional, integration, regression, smoke, and unit testing
- Reviewing other testers' test cases and implementation
- Collaborating with software development team members and other areas of Osler to clarify requirement definition
- Automating test cases where possible, using various technologies such as pytest, Appium/Selenium, and Google Test
- Supporting and driving the adoption of new technologies and approaches for both manual and automated testing, including the use of CI/CD systems, both locally and cloud-based
Required skills and knowledge:
- Ability to rapidly understand complex technical requirements and derive test cases to verify these requirements
- Formulation of detailed test cases that provide comprehensive coverage of software requirements
- Development of test scripts to automate test cases in scripting execution of test cases
- Software test case development using an Agile methodology
- Experience with Jenkins or similar CI/CD systems
- Proficiency in Python
- Knowledge of Java and C
- Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems
- Passion for testing challenging software
- Knowledge of git and platforms such as Jira and Confluence
- Proficiency in Java and Appium
- Software Development Lifecycle to medical device standards, and associated standards
- Test Driven Development (TDD)
- Experience with cloud technologies, particularly AWS for infrastructure and using RESTful APIs for data exchange
- Hands-on experience of testing Android or low-level embedded software
- Experience gained through hobby projects in areas of automation or interfacing physical devices to cloud systems
