GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team as an Autism Specialist Teacher in a secondary school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver tailored educational programs to meet the unique needs of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) to ensure students receive the best possible support.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes social skills and emotional regulation.
- Collaborate with support staff, parents, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to supporting students with ASD.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder in a secondary school setting.
- Strong understanding of ASD and its impact on learning and behavior.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with special educational needs.
- Possess an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to have one processed immediately.
