About the Role:

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a secondary school setting. As an ASD Specialist, you will create a supportive and engaging learning environment, tailoring your teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of students with ASD.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver lessons tailored to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, adapting teaching methods accordingly.
  • Collaborate with support staff and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for students.
  • Promote positive behaviour and social skills among students.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential.
  • Experience teaching students with Autism Spectrum Disorder in a UK secondary school is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of Autism and effective teaching strategies.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Provide an up-to-date CV that covers the past 10 years with gaps not exceeding a month and includes all references from the past 2 years, with employer references from all places worked in the past 2 years.
  • Have an Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
