Graduate Teaching Assistant (SEN) Role
We are seeking a recent graduate with a passion for supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to join our team at GSL Education.
About the Role
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant in a SEN environment, you will play a vital role in providing tailored support to students with SEN, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
Responsibilities
- Support students with special educational needs (SEN) in their academic and personal development.
- Work closely with teachers and other staff to create a supportive learning environment.
- Implement individualised support plans and strategies.
- Assist in managing classroom behaviour and promoting positive interactions.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support as needed.
- Monitor and report on student progress and well-being.
Requirements
- A recent graduate with a strong interest in SEN education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting young people.
- Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support (desirable but not essential).
Please note that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
