About the Role:

The Rhubarb Hospitality Collection is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at the Elgar Room Brasserie, located within the prestigious Royal Albert Hall. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, ensuring the highest standards of quality and service are maintained at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and presentation
  • Supervise and coordinate the kitchen team to ensure efficient service
  • Monitor and maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene
  • Assist with inventory management, ordering, and stock control
  • Participate in staff training and development programs to enhance culinary skills and knowledge

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef in a high-volume, quality restaurant or hospitality operation
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and train a team
  • Excellent culinary skills, with a focus on modern British cuisine and experience with a Josper grill
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends
