Housing Support Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a Housing Support Specialist to help individuals experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity find and maintain safe and stable housing.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assess individual needs and identify barriers to housing stability.
  • Develop personalized housing progression plans with clients.
  • Assist clients in accessing suitable housing options.
  • Provide practical support with applications, budgeting, and tenancy agreements.
  • Collaborate with external agencies, landlords, and housing providers.
  • Offer ongoing emotional support and advocacy.
  • Organize workshops and group sessions on housing-related topics.
  • Keep accurate records of client interactions and progress.
  • Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and training opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity.
  • Knowledge of housing legislation and local housing options.
  • Great communication skills and ability to connect with diverse individuals.
  • Empathy and a non-judgmental approach.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage a caseload effectively.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle (preferred).
