We are recruiting Higher Education students with flexible hours to assist students with disabilities/mental health conditions in their higher education studies. As a Specialist Mentor, you will help students learn coping strategies and techniques to overcome their particular disability-related difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-to-one support to students with specific learning difficulties (SpLDs) in higher or further education
  • Help students develop coping strategies and techniques to overcome disability-related difficulties

The ideal candidate has experience of working with students with SpLDs in higher or further education. Relevant qualifications include Association of Child Psychotherapists (ACP), Association of Christians in Counselling and Linked Professions, The British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP), The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWP), Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHP), Clinical Associates in Applied Psychology (CAAP) Scotland, Clinical Associates in Psychology (CAP), BPS Chartered Member (CPsychol), General Medical Council (GMC), International Society of Psychotherapy and Counselling (ISPC), Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP), National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS), Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), Mental Health Nurse, Community Mental Health Nurse, UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), University Mental Health Advisers Network (UMHAN).
