About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Thanet Community Mental Health Team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for assessing and treating patients with mental health conditions, as well as providing medical leadership and supervision to junior staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop treatment plans for patients with mental health conditions.
  • Provide medical leadership and supervision to junior staff, including appraisals and professional development.
  • Participate in service and business planning activities, including contributing to the development of mental health services in the locality.
  • Work collaboratively with local managers and professional colleagues to ensure the efficient running of services.
  • Undertake administrative duties associated with patient care, including documentation and record-keeping.
  • Attend and participate in the Trust's academic programme, including lectures and seminars as part of the internal CPD programme.

Requirements
  • MRCPsych or equivalent qualification.
  • Full registration with the GMC and inclusion on the Specialist Register.
  • Approved Clinician status and S12 approval under the Mental Health Act.
  • Excellent clinical skills and knowledge in psychiatry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
