Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Specialty Doctor to join our Haematology team at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust. The successful candidate will work closely with our consultant/specialist grade haematologists to provide high-quality care to patients with haematological conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Participate in the clinical care of patients with haematological conditions, including diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.
  2. Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical guidelines and protocols.
  3. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide a comprehensive service to patients.
  4. Participate in teaching and education, including the supervision of junior doctors and medical students.

About the Department:

Our Haematology department provides a clinical and laboratory service, managing a full range of haematological conditions to BCSH level 2a. We have a modern Blood Sciences laboratory accredited to UKAS ISO15189 and a highly rated independent haemato-oncology MDT.

Requirements:

  • ST3 level + experience in Haematology
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to professional development and continuous learning
