About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Clinical Psychologist to join our team at Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust. This is a Band 8a or Band 7 preceptorship role, ideal for senior clinical psychologists or recently qualified psychologists interested in preceptorship positions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing input to adult mental health inpatient facilities, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care. The post will be based primarily at our Pendleview Site, although flexibility to work across our two sites is available.

Candidates not yet meeting all requirements for appointment at Band 8a can be considered for appointment at Band 7 with the view to progress to 8a dependent on assessment of performance at professional review. Training and development opportunities will be provided to prepare the appointee for the band 8a position.

Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist psychological assessment and treatment to patients across a range of care settings.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to enhance the skills of other professionals.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to mental health services.
  • Participate in clinical governance activities to ensure high-quality patient care.
Requirements
  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or equivalent.
  • Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of patients across a range of care settings.
  • Well-developed skills in communicating complex information to clients, families, and professional colleagues.
