Support Worker for Children with Disabilities

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Support Worker for Children with Disabilities to join our team in Dunstable. In this role, you will work closely with our committed team to provide vital support to students with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), enabling them to reach their full potential in a supportive and inclusive setting.
About the Role:- As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality support to students with PMLD, promoting their independence and well-being.
- You will work collaboratively with teachers, other professionals, and parents/carers to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) that meet the unique needs of each student.
- You will also contribute to creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment, fostering a positive attitude towards learning among all pupils.
- Previous experience working with children or young people with PMLD in an educational setting.
- A caring, patient, and empathetic approach to working with students with complex needs.
- Knowledge of Makaton, PECS, or other communication methods is highly desirable.
- Understanding of the SEN Code of Practice and safeguarding policies.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning, SEN diploma, or equivalent).
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Competitive salary: £46,000 - £50,000 per annum (£900-£1,000 per week).
