Job Description

As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in creating an inclusive learning environment where students can thrive academically and personally. You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to provide individualized support and implement strategies that promote positive behaviour and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs.
  • Implement strategies and interventions to support the social and emotional development of students.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external agencies to address specific needs.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor and assess the progress of students, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of behaviour support plans.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar Teaching Assistant role is advantageous.
  • Empathy and a genuine passion for supporting students with SEMH needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, and parents.
  • Knowledge of relevant SEMH strategies and interventions.
