Protocol Education is seeking a dedicated Support Worker/Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist new school in Chelmsford.

This specialist school provides a nurturing, inclusive environment for 65 pupils with SEMH and associated needs, with residential provision for fifteen pupils. The school is committed to helping each child become a confident young adult, well-prepared for the future.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support teachers in delivering lessons and managing classroom behaviour
  • Assist students with special educational needs, particularly SEMH challenges
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students requiring extra help
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Support students in their social and emotional development

Applicants should possess relevant qualifications or experience, along with a good understanding of SEMH and experience working with students with similar needs. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are also required, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team.

Requirements:
  • Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience
  • Understanding of SEMH and experience working with students with similar needs
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team
