Mental Health Specialist Team Lead

This is a challenging and rewarding role that offers an exciting opportunity to progress within an operational capacity at the North East London NHS Foundation Trust.
We are seeking highly skilled registered professionals who can provide specialist mental health support to children and adolescents, working in partnership with schools and colleges.
Main Responsibilities
- To deliver comprehensive and specialist mental health services for children and adolescents, ensuring effective partnerships with schools and colleges.
- To contribute to multi-disciplinary assessments and treatments of children and adolescents with emotional and mental health problems, their carers/parents, and families.
- To undertake a range of clinical work, including guided self-help, targeted group work, and workshops under the Whole School Approach.
- To monitor and guide the team in ensuring safety benchmarks are met, as set by NELFT and the CQC, and delivering interventions aligned with NICE guidance and Routine Outcome measures.
- To support the Operational Manager with day-to-day service management, including recruitment, sickness, rota management, organizing meetings, and undertaking audits.
- To act as an autonomous professional, fully registered with the appropriate professional or regulatory body (e.g. HCPC, NMC).
The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and young people with mental health or learning disabilities, providing specialist individual interventions and delivering evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
Requirements
- A graduate training qualification (e.g. nursing, social work, occupational therapy, clinical psychology) with relevant registration (e.g. HCPC, NMC).
- Further professional knowledge gained through accredited courses, workshops, study, and in-house training programs.
- Experience of working in educational settings and knowledge of legislation related to children and adolescents, safeguarding procedures, and risk management.
Salary Details
The salary for this role is estimated to be around £40,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
