Occupational Therapy Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team at NHS Professionals Limited. As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our Occupational Therapists in the assessment and treatment of patients.
Key Responsibilities- Contribute to the smooth running of the therapy department, including caring for equipment, wheelchairs, and ordering stock.
- Assist qualified therapists in their administrative duties, ensuring the efficient functioning of the therapy department.
- Take responsibility for your delegated clinical caseload, working closely with qualified therapists to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
- Undertake assessment-related activities and treatment/intervention as required or directed by qualified therapists.
- Participate in audit and service development, contributing to the continuous improvement of our services.
- Work flexibly to meet the needs of the service, providing a high level of care and support to patients and colleagues alike.
- Good literacy and numeracy skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.
- Level 3 NVQ in a relevant area, with the ability to undertake training to acquire the skills necessary for development in the post.
- Previous experience as a healthcare assistant, rehab assistant, occupational therapy, or physiotherapy assistant, with a strong understanding of the principles of occupational therapy.
- Experience of working with older people, with a focus on providing person-centered care and support.
- Physical ability to perform tasks while kneeling, bending, and handling patients and equipment safely.
- Valid and current driving license, with the ability to travel to locations throughout the service area.
