Occupational Therapy Assistant

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team at The Walton Centre. As a key member of our therapy department, you will assist our Occupational Therapists in assessing patients and contributing to the smooth running of the department.
Main Responsibilities
- Assist qualified therapists in administrative duties and contribute to the functioning of the therapy department.
- Take responsibility for your delegated clinical caseload and undertake assessment-related activities and treatment/intervention as required.
- Participate in audit and service development, and work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.
Requirements
- Good literacy and numeracy skills.
- Level 3 NVQ in a relevant area.
- Ability to undertake training to acquire the skills appropriate for development in the post.
- Previous experience as a healthcare assistant, rehab assistant, occupational therapy or physiotherapy assistant.
- Experience of working with older people.
- Physical ability to perform tasks while kneeling, bending, and handling patients and equipment safely.
- Valid and current driving license and ability to travel to locations throughout.
