Occupational Therapy Assistant

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team at The Walton Centre. As a key member of our therapy department, you will play a vital role in supporting our Occupational Therapists in the assessment and treatment of patients.
Main Responsibilities
As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will be responsible for:
- Assisting qualified therapists with administrative duties and the smooth running of the therapy department
- Contributing to the care and maintenance of equipment, wheelchairs, and stock
- Providing support with housekeeping and administrative tasks
- Undertaking assessment-related activities and treatment/intervention as required or directed by qualified therapists
- Participating in audit and service development
- Working flexibly to meet the needs of the service
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
- A Level 3 NVQ in a relevant area
- The ability to undertake training to acquire the skills appropriate for development in the post
- Previous experience as a healthcare assistant, rehab assistant, occupational therapy, or physiotherapy assistant
- Experience of working with older people
- Physical ability to perform tasks while kneeling, bending, and handling patients and equipment safely
- A valid and current driving license and car to travel to locations throughout
