About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team at The Walton Centre. As a key member of our therapy department, you will assist our Occupational Therapists in assessing patients and contributing to the smooth running of the department.

Main Responsibilities

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Assisting qualified therapists with administrative duties and maintaining the functionality of the therapy department
  • Managing a delegated clinical caseload and undertaking assessment-related activities and treatment/intervention as required
  • Participating in audit and service development to ensure the highest standards of care
  • Working flexibly to meet the needs of the service and contributing to the overall success of the team

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • A Level 3 NVQ in a relevant area
  • The ability to undertake training to acquire the skills necessary for development in the post
  • Previous experience as a healthcare assistant, rehab assistant, occupational therapy or physiotherapy assistant
  • Experience of working with older people
  • Physical ability to perform tasks while kneeling, bending, and handling patients and equipment safely
  • A valid and current driving license to travel to locations throughout
