Occupational Therapy Assistant

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team at The Walton Centre. As a key member of our therapy department, you will work closely with our Occupational Therapists to assess and support patients in achieving their goals.
Main Responsibilities
As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will be responsible for:
- Assisting Occupational Therapists in the assessment and treatment of patients
- Conducting assessment-related activities and treatment/intervention as required
- Participating in audit and service development
- Working flexibly to meet the needs of the service
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
- Level 3 NVQ in a relevant area
- Ability to undertake training to acquire skills appropriate for development in the post
- Previous experience as a healthcare assistant, rehab assistant, occupational therapy or physiotherapy assistant
- Experience of working with older people
- Physical ability to perform tasks while kneeling, bending, and handling patients and equipment safely
- Valid and current driving license and car to travel to locations throughout
