About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team at The Walton Centre. As a key member of our therapy department, you will work closely with our Occupational Therapists to assess and support patients in their rehabilitation journey.
Main Responsibilities
Key responsibilities of this role include:
- Assisting qualified therapists with administrative duties to ensure the smooth running of the therapy department
- Contributing to the care and maintenance of equipment, wheelchairs, and stock
- Providing support with housekeeping and administrative tasks
- Undertaking assessment-related activities and treatment/intervention as required or directed by qualified therapists
- Participating in audit and service development
- Working flexibly to meet the needs of the service
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
- A Level 3 NVQ in a relevant area
- The ability to undertake training to acquire the skills appropriate for development in the post
- Previous experience as a healthcare assistant, rehab assistant, occupational therapy, or physiotherapy assistant
- Experience of working with older people
- Physical ability to perform tasks while kneeling, bending, and handling patients and equipment safely
- A valid and current driving license and car to travel to locations throughout
