We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team at NHS Professionals Limited.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic therapy department, supporting qualified therapists with their administrative duties and contributing to the smooth running of the service.
Main Responsibilities
- To assist qualified therapists in their administrative duties, ensuring efficient functioning of the therapy department.
- To take responsibility for own delegated clinical caseload, working independently and as part of a team.
- To undertake assessment-related activities and treatment/intervention as required or directed by qualified therapists.
- To participate in audit and service development, contributing to continuous improvement.
- To work flexibly to meet the needs of the service, adapting to changing priorities.
Requirements
- Good literacy and numeracy skills, essential for effective communication and record-keeping.
- Level 3 NVQ in a relevant area, demonstrating relevant knowledge and skills.
- Ability to undertake training to acquire skills appropriate for development in the post.
- Previous experience as a healthcare assistant, rehab assistant, occupational therapy or physiotherapy assistant, with a strong understanding of patient care.
- Experience of working with older people, empathizing with their needs and abilities.
- Physical ability to perform tasks while kneeling, bending, and handling patients and equipment safely.
- Valid and current driving license, enabling travel to locations throughout.
