About the Role
Duties and Responsibilities
• Assist with daily living tasks, including cooking, meal preparation, and eating meals/drinks.

• Support with household chores and general homemaking, ensuring a safe and comfortable living environment.

• Accompany the individual to appointments, hospital visits, and other necessary engagements, providing emotional support and assistance as needed.

• Assist with food shopping and meal planning, ensuring the individual's dietary needs are met.

• Provide transportation to and from school, work, college, social activities, and other destinations, ensuring safe and reliable transportation.

• Support the individual in accessing sporting and leisure activities, promoting physical and mental well-being.

• Foster a trusting and supportive relationship, encouraging socialization and participation in activities.

• Assist with managing paperwork, correspondence, and other administrative tasks, ensuring timely and accurate completion.

• Develop a good understanding of the individual's needs and preferences, adapting support to meet their changing requirements.

• Maintain confidentiality and respect the individual's privacy, adhering to data protection policies and procedures.

• Report any accidents, incidents, or concerns to the employer immediately, ensuring a safe working environment.

• Ensure the individual's safety and well-being at all times, taking reasonable care to prevent accidents and injuries.

• Possess a valid driving license and business insurance, meeting the employer's requirements for transportation.

• Demonstrate honesty, reliability, trustworthiness, and punctuality, maintaining a professional attitude and work ethic.

• Work independently and as part of a team, adapting to changing circumstances and priorities.

• Possess good listening skills, providing non-judgmental emotional support and empathy.

• Be patient, supportive, and caring, promoting the individual's independence and well-being.

• Have a genuine interest in supporting people with disabilities or illnesses, recognizing the importance of person-centered care.

• Be flexible and adaptable, responding to changing needs and circumstances.

• Possess a lively personality, promoting a positive and supportive work environment.

Requirements
• Be honest, reliable, trustworthy, and punctual.

• Maintain confidentiality and respect privacy, including the prohibited use of social media in relation to the job role.

• Previous caring experience is not essential, however you should have a genuine interest in supporting people with a disability/illness to achieve their goals.

Transport Requirement
Car driver and car owner – must have business insurance.
