Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Family Support Specialist to join our team at Gads Hill Center. As a key member of our Head Start Partner Network, you will provide comprehensive support to families, develop relationships with parents and/or guardians, and connect them to resources to meet their needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct enrollment processes, including data entry into COPA and family assessment.
  • Refer families to resources based on their needs and document referrals and progress towards goals.
  • Help parents establish a medical home and monitor health records in collaboration with the Partner Network Manager.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date data in COPA regarding family partnership agreements, assessments, case notes, and referrals.
  • Monitor component data and follow up with families on missing documentation, documenting all efforts.
  • Participate in the Head Start, Early Head Start, and Early Head Start CCP self-assessment.
  • Build rapport with site staff and parents through weekly site visits.
  • Identify potential partner community agencies and maintain an up-to-date community resource directory.
  • Attend parent meetings and collaborate with education and mental health staff to initiate referrals.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or related field.
  • A minimum of two years of experience working with children and families.
  • Experience with multicultural programming preferred.
  • Gateways Family Specialist Credential Level 3.
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable vehicle.
