About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Healthcare Assistant to join our team on Laurel 2 Oncology, based at Worcestershire Royal Hospital. As a Healthcare Assistant, you will work alongside registered nurses to provide care to patients, assisting with washing and dressing, serving meals, and monitoring patients' conditions.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist with washing and dressing patients, using hoists as appropriate.
  • Assist with serving meals and feeding patients, including reporting on their intake and recording on charts as necessary.
  • Assist with toileting, escorting patients to and from the lavatory, and recording outputs where necessary.
  • Assist with monitoring patients' conditions by taking temperatures, pulse, respirations, and weight.
  • Assist with patients' mobilisation, ensuring a safe environment and using appropriate techniques.
  • Make beds and help to ensure the ward/department is kept clean, tidy, and safe.
  • Communicate with patients and their relatives with care and compassion.
  • Help to ensure that patients are kept comfortable and receive personalised care.
