Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate individual to join our team as a Mental Health Transport Assistant - Patient Care Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing safe and respectful transportation services to vulnerable service users, while ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide professional and caring services to patients while in our care, ensuring patient safety remains paramount and safe systems of work are adhered to.
  • Support and transport vulnerable service users as part of a team, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Support the care of patients during assessments in line with the Mental Health Act, ensuring accurate implementation of electronic systems for capturing required data.
  • Ensure health and safety guidelines are followed according to current policies and procedures, and in line with HSE requirements.
  • Attend the office within one hour during on-call shifts, and use Company vehicles and equipment in a safe and respectful manner.
  • Administer first aid commensurate to training, and/or provide social care in non-emergency situations.
  • Implement and adhere to statutory regulations and organisational policies and procedures, including GDPR 2018.
  • Participate in staff development programmes, regular development reviews, and annual performance development reviews.
  • Work to the values of the organisation, displaying high standards of integrity and professionalism towards clients and colleagues.
Person Specification
  • Experience of working within Patient Transport Services, Mental Health Industry, or Care Sector.
  • Valid Full UK Manual Driving License, and Enhanced DBS Certificate (dated within last 3 years).
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to remain calm under pressure, and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail, and ability to adapt to changing situations.
