About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Spinal Cord Injury to join our team at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This is a replacement appointment to join existing colleagues in a purpose-built centre integrated within a major trauma centre with full supporting facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality patient outcomes through leading the multi-disciplinary team managing spinal cord injured patients.
  • Take a lead role in the management of spinal cord injured patients, working closely with the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Develop and implement effective treatment plans to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients with spinal cord injuries.
  • Contribute to the development of clinical guidelines and protocols for the management of spinal cord injuries.
Requirements
  • Full GMC registration.
  • MRCP (rehab) or equivalent specialist qualification.
  • Relevant CCT or equivalent.
  • Entry onto the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility for entry within 6 months of the date of appointment.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Training in appraisal techniques.
  • Leadership skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, patients, relatives, GPs, nurses, and other agencies.
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Resident within 10 miles or 30 minutes of the hospital.
