Consultant - Spinal Cord Injuries Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant to join our team at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and leading the multidisciplinary team in the management of spinal cord injured patients.
About the RoleThe Consultant will be based at The James Cook University Hospital, a major tertiary and teaching centre with over 1,000 beds. The hospital provides comprehensive regional specialties, including cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery, and spinal cord injury management.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the multidisciplinary team in the management of spinal cord injured patients
- Deliver high-quality patient care and outcomes
- Develop and implement clinical policies and guidelines
- Contribute to the development of the spinal cord injury service
- Participate in research and quality improvement initiatives
- Full GMC registration
- MRCP/MRCS or equivalent specialist qualification
- Relevant CCT or equivalent
- Entry onto the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility for entry within 6 months
- Training in appraisal techniques
- Leadership skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, patients, and other agencies
- Experience in counselling
- Ability to meet the travel requirements of the post
