Palliative Medicine Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Palliative Medicine to join our established team at Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a multi-professional team in community and hospice settings, and to develop the service.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical oversight and leadership to the comprehensive multi-professional specialist palliative care services across the Portsmouth and South East Hampshire locality.
- Lead trainee supervision, education, appraisal, or undertake a clinical leadership role.
- Develop the service and work collaboratively with the team to achieve this goal.
- Participate in the non-resident 2nd on-call 1 in 5 rota, with the aim to reduce the frequency of on-call duties in the future.

Person SpecificationWe are looking for a Consultant in Palliative Medicine who possesses the following qualifications and experience:
- MB BS or equivalent
- MRCP (UK), MRCGP or equivalent
- On the GMC Specialist Register via CCT (proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of interview) or CESR
- European Community Rights
- Full Registration with the GMC with license to practice
- Valid medical indemnity insurance
Desirable qualifications and experience include:
- Other degrees
- A research based higher degree (PhD, MD or equivalent)
- Leadership experience &/or qualifications
- Education, teaching or training experience &/or qualifications
